At allaboutgames.co.uk we value your privacy. We will never sell, trade, or otherwise give out your personal information to third parties, except where required by law.
We have a strong anti-spam policy. Spam, for the purposes of this document, is unsolicited bulk or commercial e-mail. We will never spam you, or aid others in the practice of spamming you; this includes making lists of e-mail addresses available to third parties. We block common e-mail harvesters (pieces of software which go around Web sites scanning for e-mail addresses to add to spam lists), and give them a decoy page with a honeypot e-mail address on it. Additionally, if third parties request information from us which would allow them to spam you, we will block their IP ("Internet Protocol") addresses, so as to make sure they do not crawl the site to pick up e-mail addresses. We hate spam as much as everybody else does, and get our fair share of it to our various addresses.
allaboutgames.co.uk uses "cookies" to store your information to make site usage easier. Cookies are small text files stored on your PC, used in our case to save your preferences. There have been privacy concerns about cookies, however none of these apply to us. We do not track your movement, or anything else with cookies. If you disable cookies the site will still work, it just will not be as convenient. We do, however, run adverts from other sites. These may set tracking cookies; if you are concerned you can block cookies from these advertisers.
Our Web server automatically logs all "hits" to any files within allaboutgames.co.uk. These logs include your IP address, user agent string (typically states what your Web browser is, and what operating system you are using), referer (which Web page referred you to this page), the file requested, how much of the file requested has been downloaded, and some fields which are not influenced by you (e.g. the size of the file requested). We analyse these log files with AWStats, which provides us with information such as what countries people visit from, where people are visiting from, which search engines people are using to find us, and so on. AWStats does not tie any of your personal information with the output it produces; we simply see information such as top search phrases, browsers, countries used to visit the site etc, with no idea who it is who has visited. We may make this information available to selected people (not in a trade of data, money, or anything else - merely for interest reasons).
In accordance with the Data Protection Act of 1998, you may request to see any/all personally identifiable information we have on you.
If you have trouble understanding any of the terms used, Wikipedia is an excellent resource. If you have any concerns about anything not mentioned here, please don't hesitate to e-mail us and ask about it. We aren't in the business of violating your privacy.
