iPlayer channel launching on Wii

The BBC and Nintendo have announced that they are launching a new version of the iPlayer on the Wii. Until the recent browser update, whose Adobe Flash changes broke the site, the iPlayer was available on Wii using the Internet Channel, but not only is that being fixed, but a dedicated iPlayer channel is being launched on 18th November. The new version of iPlayer has been designed to deliver a "better and higher quality experience", with a new full screen user interface which should make it easier to use with the Wii Remote.

To get hold of the BBC iPlayer Channel you'll need to head to the Wii Shop Channel after midnight on the 18th. Once downloaded, you can launch straight into iPlayer from the Wii's home screen. The Channel itself will be available for free, and of course, only available in the UK.
