The update to the European version of the Virtual Console was a bit on the slim side this week, after last week's 3-game extravaganza. There's no more C64 games just yet, but from a similar era comes the release of Yoshi's Cookie from the NES. The puzzler puts you in the role of Mario as he "sorts freshly baked cookies rolling off the production line". Factories and puzzle-based fun don't often go hand in hand, but this is an enjoyable title, featuring 100 challenging levels for solo play, as well as the ability to take on a friend in the simultaneous two-player mode. There's no online support, mind, but we're used to that on the VC, where titles are nearly always exactly as they were on their original platform. The original NES release of Yoshi's Cookie means you can expect to pay 500 Wii Points, or £3.50, to give it a go - especially with the continued lack of free trial versions.
