A number of new games were shown off by Ubisoft this week, some having been hinted in the past through leaks, for others, this was the first time we got to here about them. Dealing with one of Ubisoft's bigger franchises first, two new Assassin's Creed games were announced. First up, Assassin's Creed: Liberation, last year's Vita title is getting a HD remake and will be arriving on current generation consoles (that's Xbox 360 and PS3) and of course PC. It will feature the same story, characters and setting but the rest of the game is getting a makeover with new textures and animations as well as mission tweaks and gameplay alterations based on feedback from players and reviews of the original title. The second Assassin's Creed game will be called Assassin's Creed: Pirates. It has been designed for smartphones and tablets and will feature naval combat and treasure hunting. No release date for either title was specified. Continuing with the mobile theme, a new runner game was announced. Rayman: Fiesta Run is a follow-up to the popular Jungle Run and features levels, characters and modes inspired by both Rayman Origins and the recently released Rayman Legends set to a fruity fiesta theme. Rayman Origins was the first game to use Ubisoft's UbiArt engine which provided artists with a rich toolset to design and create games.

At the event, Ubisoft unveiled a new title that makes use of this engine, Child of Light. The absolutely gorgeous game is inspired by Japanese role playing games and players guide a princess through a strange world fighting monsters and solving puzzles. The princess is accompanied by a ball of light named Igniculus, who helps throughout the game and can be controlled by a second player. Its fantastic to see new titles built with this engine as its artist focussed approach can be used to produce some amazing visuals and its used to striking effect with Child of Light.

2D puzzle adventure game Valiant Hearts: The Great War was also revealed at the event. Set in World War I, it sports a comic art style with hand drawn visuals by the the team's art director. Players will switch between characters of different nationalities in the game and see different aspects of the war. The game will be released in 2014.

A browser based version of Tom Clancy's End War as well as a new Rabbids mobile game were announced too. Finally, a few more details for Trials Frontier were teased which will see crafting and quest systems featured in the game.
