Disney Interactive and Black Rock Studios seem to be using the Facebook page for their arcade racing game Split/Second: Velocity (which we gave 7/10) to announce things like the new downloadable content. Having earlier confirmed that DLC was finally on the way (as discussed on our podcast), the developer has now confirmed the details.

The first DLC pack will be the 'High Octane' Super Pack that was confirmed before release thanks to a pre-order promotion by Play.com. Well, it was called the 'Hyper Cars' pack back then, but we assume it's the same thing, and that people who pre-ordered from that online retailer will finally get their free code. The package itself brings three completely new supercars to the game, whereas the other two DLC packs that are being released alongside it are new liveries for existing cars. You'll get a set of liveries for the Elite vehicles, and a reworked version of the Ryback Cyclone in the other two packs, which are now being released for free as a thank you to fans.

The DLC is due to arrive tomorrow (August 31st) in the US on both the Xbox 360 and PS3, and should arrive in Europe on the Xbox Live Marketplace tomorrow, and then on the PlayStation Store on Wednesday as part of the regular update. More DLC should be arriving in September, with the developing having previously confirmed a new environment will arrive for the game.
