Sims 4 Delay

EA's The Sims 4, which was revealed in full at this year's Gamescom has already suffered a release date setback. Originally due in "early 2014", it has now been pushed back until Autumn 2014. However, the game doesn't join the recent delays to high-profile next-gen games as it's actually currently only planned to arrive on Windows PCs and Macs.

Titanfall release date

EA can, however, look to a different game to top up their bank account with highly-anticipated big hitter Titanfall picking up a release date of March 14th in the UK (3 days after the US). The Respawn Entertainment game is being published by EA on the PC, Xbox 360 and Xbox One, with the latter being a big part of Microsoft's early 2014 push for their new console, especially considering that they likely had a hand in the game being console exclusive to their machines, at least for a few month. The multiplayer-focussed first-person shooter with mechs was a hit at E3 and Gamescom, including with our own Matt Bailey (that is, me)..

GTA at top, Skylanders makes strong debut

The retail charts are getting less interesting as digital sales continue to take off - and yet aren't currently recorded in the UKIE's all-format charts. Still, it can be interesting to see how high-profile console releases stack up against one another. This week Grand Theft Auto V continues its run at the top which was interrupted by the arrival of FIFA 14 three weeks ago. EA's football game remains in second ahead of a strong debut of Activision's Skylanders Swap Force in third place. Last year's entry in the series had 35% more sales, but we doubt the company is worried about a series that is still selling in big numbers.
