Metal Gear Online beta leads PS Store update

The Metal Gear Online beta we mentioned in a previous news post is the lead item in the latest European PlayStation Store update. The client for the free public beta can now be obtained, but after installing it and loading it up you'll need to grab a large patch that'll be eating up your PS3 for quite some time. You'll also need a dreaded Konami ID, so head over to the website for that, and hope you're able to navigate the slow the process.

Those with money, and a copy of Warhawk, might be interested in picking up the new add-on for the game. The £3.99 "Operation Broken Mirror" pack adds a brand-new large map to the game, complete with an APC that's probably worth the money alone. The map is available in a variety of gametypes, allowing you to get the most out of your purchase. On the free add-on front is "Deadly Dragons" pack for Lair which, among other things, adds analog control support, meaning the game which was made near-unplayable by its motion-only controls can now be played. Not that we'd recommend doing so, particularly.

This all comes on the new-look PlayStation Store which launched last Tuesday. The flow of new content since the update has been good, and hopefully it will continue this Thursday.
