It's a busy week on the PlayStation Store with the latest update bringing 5 new titles. First up is Numblast, which is a curious puzzler involving creating combos of identical numbers aligned in 2x2 squares. It costs £3.99, and there's versions available for either the PS3 or PSP. For £6.99 you can pick up Punisher: No Mercy, which is an arcade-style shooting title featuring The Punisher from the Marvel Comics. It also supports up to 8 players online. Another puzzle game has also been added; topatoi: The Great Tree Story is a puzzle/platform game that allows you to control a gyroscopic vehicle for £7.99. The last completely new title is Red Baron Arcade, which lets you take part in some WW1 air battles. You can give the free trial version a go, and upgrade it to the full thing for £6.29.
The fifth title that has been added to the Store is a "PSone Classic": James Pond 2: Codename Robocod. Some may remember the original game from the Amiga days, and indeed this sequel was also originally from that era. It got a re-release on the PlayStation about 5 years ago... which is not bad for a console that was 10 years old by that point. Anyway, this Amiga to PlayStation conversion is now back again, ready for use on the PS3 or PSP for £3.99.
There's a selection of downloadable content available to, with the highlight probably being the Motorstorm: Pacific Rift expansion "Speed", which contains 3 extra tracks each with three variants, three new vehicles, and a new mini-festival with 48 new events. It's £4.79, and whether you buy it or not, you can get the Monarch Signature Livery Pack for free, but grab it quickly as it's a temporary download. Also free is a "Sackture of Liberty" costume for LittleBigPlanet to celebrate the US Independence Day tomorrow.
There's some free costumes for Dynasty Warriors 6 Empires, and what amounts to downloadable cheats for Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 for a range of prices which are all too expensive. There's also a selection of downloadable tracks for Guitar Hero: World Tour and Rock Band. There's also a load of PSP releases appearing on the Store to coincide with their shop release, such as Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10.
