Valve's latest shooter, Left 4 Dead, has received a worldwide public demo on both the Xbox 360 and PC. It follows on from a special pre-order-only demo for uses of Steam on the PC, and now everyone can get a free sample of the Half-Life creators' zombie-infested co-op FPS. The demo itself features 4 player online co-op on both platforms, though the online part will only function until the game launches in the US (and worldwide on Steam) next Tuesday, 18th November. The PC retail copies arrive on European shores three days later on Friday 21st.

The demo is well worth checking out, and if you don't have three friends available to play, or don't want strangers to join your game, then it's still possible to play alone with three AI-controlled characters joining in the action with you.
