While Microsoft didn't announced a firm release date for the Xbox One this morning - "November" is the best we have, which is what was announced at E3 before all their plans changed - Sony did finish off their Gamescom press conference with release dates for the PS4. In particular, the UK will be getting the console on 29th November along with the rest of the European launch regions, which are Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland. Notably there's a few countries in that list which aren't getting the Xbox One this year, giving Sony a huge adventure in those terriorities.

The PS4 also has a clear advantage in Latin and South America, with Microsoft only bringing the Xbox One to Brazil this year. Sony will be serving Brazil alongside Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Mexico, Panama and Peru on the 29th November also. The US and Canada, however, get the new console a couple of weeks earlier, on the 15th November. Japan is not considered one of the launch regions for either console, representing gaming's shift away from the region in recent years.
