We continue our Gamescom coverage with a recap of the Konami Press Conference that occurred today at 11 am CEST. Here are the highlights from the session:

First on stage was a trailer for Def Jam Rapstar. A big focus of the trailer was regarding the game’s social integration features. They then got one of the artists to appear on stage who then performed one of his songs from the game. During a brief interview on stage afterwards he quipped that he looked forward to showing the game to his grandkids one day. “That’s my name in the game.”

Next up was Naoki Maeda came on stage to talk about Dance Revolution, currently a working title, featuring Kinect support. Unfortunately, no real game footage was shown but he announced that it would be released in November 2010.

The room went dark for the next trailer. Some classical music played and a disembodied head was shown beginning to roll around. Picking up speed, it started to attached to body parts, gradually reforming the body until it was able to start shooting again. The game? Never Dead; announced during E3 earlier this year, this time the focus of the trailer was on the regeneration of the character. The exec talked about how the main character could never die, which would be reflected in the gameplay.

The UK producer of the forthcoming Castlevania: Lord of Shadows; took the stage next. He revealed that the game has been completed and was awaiting certification from both Sony and Microsoft. He announced the European release date as 7th October and the special of edition was revealed, featuring a paperweight helmet. They also have two DLC packs in the works but they didn't go in any detail.

Finally, a new trailer for PES 2011 was shown, detailing some of the new features they've added to the game. They also confirmed that they had licensed the German team Bayern Munich, although no other teams were mentioned. European release was announced as the 30th September.

And that was it. Despite the lack of Metal Gear Rising news, this was an interesting conference and we looking forward to trying some of Konami's games on the show floor.
