First Halo 3 map pack goes free

The "Heroic" map pack that was released for Micrsoft's FPS Halo 3 last December has now been made available for free on the Xbox Live Marketplace. Developer Bungie previously released the pack for 800 Microsoft Points, but as promised, it's now available for 800 less.

The pack adds three maps in the forms of Standoff, Rat's Nest, and Foundary. The last one is of particular importance as it's a very large space, in a sort of warehouse, that's perfect for playing around in the game's map editor, Forge. It was something that pretty much justified the price of the pack, but at the new price, who can resist? So fire up your Xbox 360s now, and prepare for the new maps to enter the normal playlist rotations soon.
