LucasArts' classic point-and-click adventure Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge is the lead item on the download services this week. Well, the Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Store anyway. 360 and PS3 owners can now pick up the HDified Special Edition for 800 Microsoft Points (£6.80) or £7.99 respectively, with free trial versions available for both. We haven't even reached the Summer of Arcade, and already we have some great releases. In fact, joining Monkey Island 2 on XBLA is Blacklight: Tango Down from Ignition, costing 1200 Microsoft Points (£10.20) and giving you a plenty of FPS multiplayer action. There's also some new downloadable content (DLC) for Xbox Live Arcade title Worms 2: Armageddon. For 400 Microsoft Points (£3.40) you can get the Battle Pack which adds new weapons, game modes, items for customising your team, and more.
Joining Monkey Island 2 on the PlayStation Store is Groovin' Blocks for the PS3, costing £7.99, and two minis; 5-in-1 Arcade Hits and Aquattack!, both costing £2.49 and available for both the PS3 and PSP. There are no other new games for the PSP, but there is an exciting new demo; you can now try out Patapon 3 for free, which includes a sample of the upcoming game's new online multiplayer mode. There's lots of new DLC for the PS3, though, with the £10.99 Resurgance Pack for Modern Warfare 2, the £3.99 Marvel Level Kit for LittleBigPlanet, and the £5.49 Leliana's Song for Dragon Age: Origins. There's also new content for Skate 3, Just Cause 2, ModNation Racers, SBK X, and MotoGP '10 among others.
The DSi continues to dominate the Nintendo Store updates. There are another 5 DSiWare releases this week; SteamWorld: Tower Defence, Crazy Golf, 2Puzzle It: Fantasy, Hair Salon: Pocket Stylist, and 16 Shot! Shooting Watch. All except the last are self-explanatory and cost 500 DSi Points (£4.50), while the last title is a re-release of Hudson's 1987 whack-a-button-as-quickly-as-possible craze, costing 200 DSi Points (£1.80). Over on the Wii there's a single new Virtual Console game this week; NES game Shadow of the Ninja is similar to Ninja Gaiden and is also the American version, so it costs an extra 100 Wii Points than the usual NES release, taking the total to 600 Wii Points (£4.20). Alongside this are two new WiiWare titles; Toribash isn't a game where you attack Conservative MPs, but is a fighting game for 1000 Wii Points (£7), while Zenquaria: Virtual Aquarium costs 600 Wii Points.
