The Mafia are in control of Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network this week following the release of the demo of 2K Games' upcoming third-person action game Mafia II. The free demo is now available on both the PS3 and 360. Both platforms also get some exciting new exclusive and original games. Monday Night Combat is the latest Xbox Live Summer of Arcade title, bringing Team Fortress 2 and tower defence-style gameplay to XBLA. We'll have a review of this third-person multiplayer action game online soon.

Over on the PlayStation Network the exclusive game is Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, based on the comics of the same name, and tying in to the upcoming film release. Well, it's sort of exclusive, as it's only a timed-exclusive, and will join the Xbox Live Arcade in a couple of weeks' time. In the meantime PS3 can enjoy this interesting side-scrolling beat-'em'-up on their own.

On the DLC front, Red Dead Redemption gets the "Legends and Killers Pack" this week for £7.99 on PSN, and 800 Microsoft Points (£6.80) on Xbox Live. It includes a bunch of new multiplayer content, such as nine new map areas, new chalenges, a new weapon, and some characters from Red Dead Revolver. There's also the £3.99/400 MSP (£3.40) "The Golems of Amgarra" pack for Dragon Age: Origins on both the PS3 and 360 respectively.

Finishing up on the PSN there's not really anything of note for PSP owners, but PS3 owners with a PlayStation Plus subscription can currently pick up the new free content update for PixelJunk Racers. 2nd Lap is available now to those on Sony's subscription package, but will be free to all in a couple of weeks. All that own PixelJunk Racers, that is.

There's nothing particularly exciting on the Nintendo download stores this week. SNES gallery shooter Wild Guns is probably the most interesting title and costs 800 Wii Points (£5.60). It's joined on the Wii Shop Channel by HoopWorld: Basketball (1000 Wii Points/£7) and the forgettable Family Card Games (500 Wii Points/£3.50). On the DSi Drift Street International looks quite good for 800 DSi Points (£7.20), and probably more interesting than the last game this week, Disney Fireworks (also 800 DSi Points).

And that's it until the next one.
