The Hanabi Festival is back on the Wii Shop channel in the latest update from Nintendo. Two titles previously unreleased on these shores, but available elsewhere in the world, are now available for your downloadable pleasure on your Wii. They come with a 100 premium, for services such as translation, and this week Ironclad, a first person shooter from the NEO GEO is the lead title. It costs 1000 Wii Points (£7), and is joined by Lode Runner, a somewhat well known puzzle series. This is the first title on that series, coming from the NES era, which means it has an inflated price of 600 Wii Points (£4.20), but you can pick up the superior Battle Lode Runner for the same price instead - it's been on the Wii Shop Channel for quite some time. Joining these two Virtual Consoles releases on WiiWare is Military Madness: Nectaris, a classic hexangonal strategy game for 1000 Wii Points.
Continuing the Nintendo theme there's five new DSiWare games; 3D multiplayer title Pop Island is probably the most interesting and costs 500 DSiPoints (£4.50), while strategy RPG Elemental Masters will set you back 800 DSi Points (£7.20). The remaining three titles aren't that exciting and are fairly self-explanatory; 4 Travellers: Play Spanish (800 DSi Points), Simply Sudoku (200 DSi Points/£1.80), and Simply Mahjong (200 DSi Points).
Scrap Metal is the latest Xbox Live Arcade release. This flying/racing/shooter from Slick Entertainment features offline and online multiplayer action for 4 players. It costs 1200 Microsoft Points, or £10.20, and there's the usual free trial version available.
Over on the PlayStation Store, Mega Man 10 gets an outing on the PlayStation 3. The retro-styled new release was on WiiWare recently, but is appearing on the PSN ahead of an Xbox Live release at the end of the moment. The Capcom game costs £7.99. There's two new minis available for the PS3 and PSP; Ice Road Truckers for £2.49 and Rocket Racing for £3.99, while owners of both or either platform can also pick up some new PSone, erm, 'classics' such as Airboat Racing, Jigsaw Madness, Junior League Soccer, Sorcerer's Maze, and SuperStar Dance Club for £3.99 each. Interesting definition of classics there. On the PS3 the most important bits of DLC are the Dragon Age: Origins – Return to Ostagar pack for £3.99, and the £3.19 "Sinclair Solutions Testers Pack" for BioShock 2. The PSP meanwhile gets some more free Echoshift content. Oh, and there's more RockBand and Guitar Hero 5 tracks too.
