It's time for another DLC Digest, where instead of a bunch of individual posts on the latest downloads on each platform, we have a weekly round-up. It covers a range of downloadable content (DLC), in particular demos and add-ons, across all the consoles.
We'll start by looking at the Nintendo Stores this week where there's some big WiiWare releases. Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney: Justice For All is a port of the excellent 2007 DS title from Capcom, following on the recent release of the first Phoenix Wright game on WiiWare. The Wii Remote replaced the stylus interaction, and it will cost you 1000 Wii Points (£7) to pick this up. The long-awaited final chapter of the Tales of Monkey Island series of adventure games arrives on WiiWare. Chapter 5, called Rise of the Pirate God, is available now also for 1000 Wii Points. There's no Virtual Console release this week, but there is another WiiWare title; Rising Star Games' first game on the platform is Brain Cadets, a sort of Big Brain Academy type of game, with lots of thinking-based party games. Another 1000 Wii Points for that.
There's four new DSiWare games this week, and none of them are bits of Elecktroplankton (hurray!). First up is Flight Control which was a well-reviewed iPhone/iPod touch game, now making its way on to Nintendo's handheld. While it remains good, the price has shot up from 79p to 500 DSi Points (or £3.50). Flips: Terror in Cubicle Four is a children's interactive book for 500 DSi Points, while Downtown Texas Hold'em is yet another poker game for the same price. Lastly, Puzzle to Go Wildlife is a wildlife-themed jigsaw puzzle game for that same magical 500 DSi Points price.
Over on the PlayStation Store this week you can finally pick up Peggle for the PS3. It needs no explanation, really, but it does need a price; £6.29. The follow-up, Peggle Nights, has also been released for the bargain price of £3.19, although unlike other platforms it requires the original to play. Also arriving is Revenge of the Wounded Dragons for £6.29, along with free demos of Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing, Yakuza 3, and Digger HD. There's also two minis for the PS3 and PSP; Alien Zombie Death and Retro Cave Flyer, each costing £2.49. Burnout Paradise has also been re-released on the PlayStation Store in two new bundles; one includes the game and all the DLC for £23.99, while the other includes all the DLC for £15.99. The "Hoth Mission Pack" for Star Wars - The Force Unleashed also appears on the PS3 for £7.99.
There's quite a bit of cross-platform DLC, including two high-profile releases; Assassin's Creed II gains "Sequence 13 Bonfire of the Vanities" for £3.19/320 Microsoft Points (£2.72), or you can get some secret locations with that for £5.49/560 MSP (£4.76) for the PS3 and Xbox 360 respectively. Resident Evil 5 receives the (apparently rather good) "Lost in Nightmares" missions for £3.99 or PS3, or 400 MSP (£3.40) on Xbox 360. Both platforms also get some new tracks for Rock Band and Guitar Hero 5.
Returning to the PlayStation Store, as well as two new minis, the PSP also gains four new titles this week; SOCOM Fireteam Bravo 3 (£24.99), Half-Minute Hero (£23.99), Disgaea 2: Dark Hero Days (£23.99), and SEGA Rally for £13.99. The only DLC on the handheld this week is "The Wedding Theme Level Kit" for LittleBigPlanet for £2.39, along with a free wedding costume.
Lastly, this week's Xbox Live Arcade title is The Misadventures of PB Winterbottom, which is an interesting looking time-manipulation puzzle-platformer costing 800 Microsoft Points, or £6.80. There's also the usual free trial version available too.
