Instead of a bunch of posts each week on the latest downloads on each platform, whose length varies based on how much has come out, we're now going to have a weekly round-up, the "DLC Digest". It'll cover a range of downloadable content (DLC), in particular demos and add-ons, across all the consoles. There will still be a few separate posts for high-profile pieces of content, but otherwise we'll be covering them here.

We begin this week with KrissX on the Xbox Live Arcade. This Xbox 360 title is a word-based puzzle game from Konami. It's a single player game with a whole range of stages, costing 800 Microsoft Points, or £6.80. There's alos the usual free trial version available for download.

For PS3 owners, on the PlayStation Store, are two new games; Thexder Neo and Polar Panic. The first is a re-release of a 1985 action-adventure game, for £6.29, and the second is an action-puzzle game that was previously released on the Xbox Live Arcade. It's here for £7.99. There's free trial versions of both on the Store too. There's also a free demo of the excellent PS3-exclusive action adventure title Uncharted 2, probably our game of 2009, and the game also receives a "PlayStation Heroes Skin Pack" which adds characters from InFamous, Resistence, and KillZone 2 to the multiplayer modes for £3.99.

Also on the PlayStation Store are two full-sized PSP games for £15.99; Mytran Wars and MX vs ATV Untamed. PSP owners can also get a free demo of EA's Army of Two: 40th Day, or get a free car pack for Gran Turismo. LittleBigPlanet on PSP also gets the "Garden Themes Pack" for £2.39.

On both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 is the first add-on for Assassin's Creed II. "Sequence 12: Battle of Forli" was originally the twelfth section in the main game, but it was removed to be completed later, and now released as a piece of DLC for £3.19 on PS3, or 320 Microsoft Points (£2.72) on the 360.

The Wii Shop Channel this week brings a single new Virtual Console title; Street Fighter Alpha 2 from the SNES era is a classic fighting game available for 800 Wii Points (£5.60). There's also a single WiiWare release; 530 Eco Shooter is an on-rails shooter from the guys behind Advanced Wars and Fire Emblem, costing 1000 Wii Points (£7). There's two more Electroplankton releases for 200 DSi Points (£1.80) on the DS Shop, along with a new DSiWare title; Legends of Exidia is a Japanese-style RPG from Gameloft for 800 DSi Points (£7.20).

And aside from the usual selection of tracks for RockBand and Guitar Hero 5 on both the 360 and PS3, that's your lot for this week. Except for the Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Xbox 360 demo covered in our next news item.
