DeathSpank the only high-profile release on any of the download services this week. Coming to both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 via the Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network respectively, EA and Hothead Games' title is an exciting action-RPG from Ron Gilbert, the man behind the excellent Monkey Island games. In fact, it's been described as "Monkey Island meets Diablo", and you can sample the trial version - curiously - only on the Xbox Live Arcade edition. PS3 owners don't get this luxury, but it looks like it might be worth investing the £9.99 anyway. On the 360 it'll cost 1200 Microsoft Points, or £10.20 - so you pay an extra 21p for that demo. Joining DeathSpank on the XBLA is Deadliest Warrior: The Game for 800 Microsoft Points, or £6.80.

On the PlayStation Store DeathSpank is the only new full PSN release, although it is joined by 5 new minis which are compatible on both the PS3 and PSP; Car Jack Streets for £3.49, Archibald's Adventure for £2.49, Pallurikio for £3.49, andStar Hammer Tactics for £2.49. The last one is Piyotama which is a puzzle game previously released as a full PSN title for the PS3. Now it's a mini for both the console and the handheld at £3.49. Also on the PlayStation Store is a demo for Blur, some DLC for Trine, and some more PSP games; Armored Core: Last Raven (£11.99), TNA Impact! Cross the Line (£23.99), and Pro Cycling 2010: Tour de France (£31.99). That's a lot of money for handheld men in lyrca. Erm, moving swiftly on...

The only DLC of note on the Xbox Live Marketplace this week is a new car pack for Forza 3. The "World Class" car pack adds the likes of the McLaren MP4-12C, Mitsubishi Colt Ralliart and the Mazda 2 for just 400 Microsoft Points (£3.40). However, you can try out the Mitsubishi Colt Ralliart for free thanks to the Sample pack.

Lastly we take a look over the Nintendo stores. For 700 Wii Points (£4.90) you get an interesting air combat title Pearl Harbour Trilogy - 1941: Red Sun Rising, or Kung Fu Funk - Everybody is Kung Fu Fighting! for 500 Wii Points (£3.50). There are no new Virtual Console games this week. Over on DSiWare one particularly interesting game is 3D Space Tank which seems to be a sequel to a little-known Game Boy game. It features a limited pallete but is gaining some praise in the US where it was known as X-Scape. It's yours for 800 DSi Points (£7.20). Joining it are Soul of Darkness (500 DSi Points/£4.50), 4 Travellers: Play French (800 DSi Points), and 5-in-1 Solitaire (200 DSi Points/£1.80).
