EA's FIFA 12 is certainly holding steady at the top of the UKIE all-format charts, although it has been doing it in weeks when there are next to no new games, and certainly none which are charting. Still, it's impressive for the game to be holding on to that Number 1 spot for five consecutive weeks, and it has also now made not only more money than any other FIFA game, but more than any other sports title to date here in the UK. The only thing is hasn't beaten is FIFA World to World Cup 98's record of 11 straight weeks at the top of the charts.
Bethesda's highly successful RPG Skyrim continues to be, well, highly successful, and this week climbs back up to second place, knocking Ubisoft's Just Dance 3 down to third. EA's Battlefield 3 was this week beaten by Activision's Modern Warfare 3, as the two traded places for fourth and fifth. 505 Games' fitness titles Zumba Fitness and Zumba Fitness 2 are not planning on leaving the Top 10 any time soon as they are now in sixth and eighth respectively.
The fantastic Rayman Origins from Ubisoft has been making up for its poor sales performance shortly after release. Having failed to make it into the Top 40 under Week 3, it has been on a steady climb since and is now all the way up in ninth. Considering how much we praised this game in our review, we're naturally quite pleased about this. Nintendo will also be pleased to see 3DS exclusives (and likely system sellers) Mario Kart 7 and Super Mario 3D Land are continuing to perform well in 11th and 13th respectively. We've reviewed the latter - and showered it with praise - too.
There's still a lack of new releases, and even the re-entries are not all that surprising. Hopefully next week will add some excitement with Capcom's 3DS-exclusive action-horror game Resident Evil: Revelations due for release this Friday, and is by far the most high profile release since New Year. Expect it to make it into at least the Top 20.
You can get the full Top 40 in our dedicated charts section, which is updated every Monday.
