A beta and demo have been launched for EA and DICE's first person shooter, Battlefield: Bad Company 2, for the PC and Xbox 360 respectively. The Xbox 360 demo is currently available for free for all Xbox Live Gold members, and can be picked up from the Xbox Live Marketplace, while the PC beta is a little more complicated. It's available to those who pre-ordered from select retailers, and codes should have been arriving in e-mail inboxes this week for that. There's a list of locations to download the beta client, for those with a code, on the official blog. If, however, you pre-ordered from Steam, then the beta will appear in your games list to download, complete with your code.

Both the beta and the demo allow you to try out the game's Port Valdez, a vehicle-focused map for up to 24 (360) or 32 (PC) players. You get to play as either the Americans or the Russians in the game's Rush multiplayer mode, and the game's levelling system is also in place. Both the beta and the demo will run until the 25th Februrary, while the full game is out on PC, 360 and PS3 on 5th March here in the UK.
